Thanks for joining me for the 4th and final post in my wedding recap! (Click to view parts 1, 2 and 3) This time I’ll be sharing photos and highlights from the reception and our after dinner s’mores roast.
While we snapped some couples and family portraits, our jazz quartet, The Recessionals, provided a lovely backdrop and set the mood for a fun and slightly retro celebration. They were incredibly skilled, and incredibly friendly and accommodating too – they were a perfect fit for our reception.
We danced our first dance right after entering, to The Lovin’ Spoonful’s “Darling Be Home Soon,” which the band covered beautifully. The song means a lot to us, and we were so glad to be able to incorporate it into our special day.
Then, my dad and I danced to another very special song, Paul Anka’s “Put Your Head On My Shoulder.” He used to sing me this song when I was an infant, while he walked me around my parents’ bedroom to put me to sleep.
Next up, Mr. Crafty and his mom danced to Jason Mraz’s “93 Million Miles.” We couldn’t think of a more fitting song for an adventurous side, who now lives across the country from his parents, but will always have a special spot in his heart for mom.
